The Steinberg Systems Precision Paint Thickness Meter is capable of measuring from 0 to 1400 μm with an accuracy of ±2.5% + 1 μm. The device is capable of working on both straight surfaces and curved surfaces. This is thanks to the "V" shaped tip, which provides a minimum measurement area of 20 mm, 5 mm for convex surfaces and 25 mm for concave surfaces.

The tester has many functions, including test mode, measurement method, and measurement unit (μm, mm, mil). The device also allows you to save up to 320 results, and thanks to the mini USB port, keep them on a computer disk. The meter is suitable for temperatures from 0 to 50℃ and humidity of 20-90%.

Operation of the device is simple with convex buttons and a backlit LCD screen. Testing can be carried out in two ways: spot or continuous. The former involves applying the meter locally, while the latter involves dragging the tester across the surface to be tested. The spring-loaded tester ensures safety when measuring, with no risk of scratching the paint. The end of the test is announced by an audible signal.

The tester comes with accessories necessary for its proper operation. Among them are a USB cable, a CD with software and calibration plates. With the help of the latter, the user can independently ensure the precise operation of the meter. In addition, a convenient carrying case will make it easier to transport the whole set.

The device is powered by two 1.5V AAA batteries. A special system shuts down the tester when not in use for 3 minutes, which helps extend the life of the batteries.
